Film Synopsis
“Margherita” is a 3D CG animated short film. It’s a romantic comedy about a young man Max who falls in love with Lucy, a barista in her café. With the help of his dog Yuki, Max overcomes his shyness and pursues Lucy, leading to a series of funny mishaps and awkwardness. Eventually, Max and Lucy confess their love for each other and live happily ever after.
Artist Statement
Our love story celebrates the simplicity and purity of love in everyday life. Through this story, we aim to explore the power of falling in love at first sight and the courage it takes to chase that love. We hope to convey the joy, excitement, and surprise to the audience through the small, intimate moments of the characters’ love journey, to evoke a sense of connection with the audience. Ultimately, we want to inspire a renewed sense of appreciation for the beauty of love and the bravery it takes to pursue it.

Tanya Wang (Tianyu Wang) is a 3D animator based in Vancouver and raised in Qingdao, China. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Media Arts degree at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. In addition to her academic pursuits, Tanya has developed an interest in 3D animation and hopes to become a 3D Animator in the future.
