Artist Statement

The inspiration of this film is my own memory back when I was in middle school. I used to have a best friend, but then we had some mistrust/misunderstanding issue that brought us apart. We were giving each other a silent treatment, and none of us were willing to take a step forward to make up with each other.

This film stems from the regret that I didn’t have the courage to break the awkwardness and be brave to solve the problem in our friendship. This instance wasn’t the only time I’ve let a relationship slip away, but it definitely was the most memorable for me. I want to make a change for myself, but also to tell all the people who face the same situation to be inspired to take that step and cease the moment before it’s too late to do so. I also want to convey an understanding of sorts, the hardship of trying to get back with someone even though they seem like they don’t care, the temptation to just give up and let them go. I want to represent the realism of the situation, the fact that things might not alway go your way and failure to achieve the goal is a definite thing that might happen.
