ARTIST STATEMENT:

Untitled Us is a film that represents the personal challenges I’ve faced in recent years, including being an only child studying abroad; as well as being inspired by the recent issues in my home country, China during the Covid pandemic. It is precisely these feelings of constraint that have shaped my perspective and inspired me to create this two-hander dramatic short; it seeks to bridge the divide and connect with viewers on a more visceral level. By portraying these subtle but human emotions, I hope to inspire and provoke a similar feeling in those who, like me, have felt the crushing weight of confinement and long for the freedom of self-expression.
