Chicken wire and blue crochet thread, sculptures, installation

Empty – E_pt_ is expected to be an immersive installation, in which audiences are allowed to immerse themselves with various materialised- emptied figures inside a room, or a small space. It is depicted in a poetic way, which tells stories about emptiness of different social beings. This installation allows the audience to relate themselves into the artwork, so as I, self-portrayed some parts of myself into the installation too. The piece is not limiting the audience to think only in a ‘political’ aspect, yet, with a diverse range of layers and meanings; the audience can resonate themselves in any ways. This installation is working on ‘emptiness’, which all of us are emptied in some way, such as childhood traumas, losses, regrets, failures, unable to fulfil different standards, etc. These different fragments of emptiness, may be influenced by our personal experiences, social expectations, and/ or, political uncertainties, etc.

The purpose of the project is to bring up the uncomfortness of all the individuals and to bring up all the emptiness in our lives, without giving a solution to the audience, instead, they/ we can figure out a ‘solution’ for ourselves to sort things out at some points in our life.
